In order to channel the maximum potential of our revenue directly into programs serving those in need, we rely on volunteer elbow grease and good cheer.
Whether you’ve got an hour a week to give or would rather be contacted about specific projects, we’re sure the work will satisfy and the company lively.
How can you help? Read on to see what piques your interest!
Holiday Meals: Each Thanksgiving and Christmas, we serve hundreds of meals, to go, for those who need help stretching their budget or cooking a feast in order to enjoy the season. Starting four days before each feast, we peel, chop, blend, roast, puree, bake, and pack. Help out in the kitchen for an hour or ten!
Holiday Gift Bags: Starting on November 1 each year, we begin collecting gently used items or gift cards and buying small gifts which we wrap and stuff into beautiful cloth gift bags for adults in our region who might not otherwise have much holiday joy. If shopping, wrapping, and playing elf are up your alley, this is the volunteering for you!
Camps: We run six weeks of camp each summer, several days during February vacation, and one evening in December (Sparkle Camp). Our counselors are creative, active, funny, talented folk who love elementary age kids. If you’ve got a talent you’d love to share, be in touch to see how we might include you in the fun!
Building and Grounds: Our historic farmhouse has been undergoing some remarkable rehabbing, with a new roof and paint being the tip of the renovation iceberg. We have an abundance of projects on our to-do list, for every skill set and energy level. Some tasks will be group endeavors during a work party, while others can be one-offs by one or two focused individuals. Care to be on our on-call list?
